This first layout is a great example of how you can use rainbow colors withou adding an actual rainbow. A lot of circles have been grouped and stacked together around the featured circular photo. What a great effect! And what dedication and work! The result is totally worth it. The rainbow of colors emphasize the happiness that is radiating from the photo. So sweet!

This layout shows the rainbow colors in a more subdued, but not less fun, way. Color-grouped rectangular pieces are arranged around the very cute central photoThe photo itself is in black and white, making that rainbow of colors really pop. Some extra color-coordinated buttons and flowers have been added, making the layout even more playful.

Not only will have this technique of color-grouping small pieces of patterned paper a fantastic effect, it is also a great way to use up those little scraps of paper!

The rainbow in this layout is quite minimal and subtle. The numbers, counting the 10 things, are colored and matching frills of color seem to explode from them to the left of the page. This color dripping technique is so much fun to do and always gives a great effect.

This subtle use of color is a great embellishment to the page, whilst still keeping the focus on the journaling. A beautiful way to add color to your layouts!

This kid is going to be a great artist some day! And the artist-theme has been continued on the page with the addition of the little paint-palette and brushes embellishments, very cute! The background shows five vibrant rainbow color patterned paper columns, ending in the colorful letters of the title. What a great idea! Notice how those five colors are also on the paint-palette, ánd in the right order! This is just the perfect finishing touch to this wonderfully colorful page!

A rainbow of patterned paper rays are bursting forth from this gorgeous layout! The little girl on the photo is dressed very colorfully as well, adding even more color-fun to the page. I love how the patterned papers match together through the repetition of their prints: I just love those chevrons and polka dots!

The little cluster of the photo, colorful embellishments (love those flowers with the brad hearts!) and title of glitter-gold works perfectly with that dominant and color-ful background!

This layout shows that rainbows are for Christmas layout too! The colors of the rainbow are a bit more pastel, purple is gone and there is much emphasis on the red and green colors. But, all in all, it still feels like a rainbow of colors, and a Christmassy one at that!

The layout is simple in design and exquisite in execution. The vertical patterned paper stripes have been stitched to the page using color-coordinated thread. The cluster with the two very cute black and white photos match the chosen rainbow colors of the background perfectly. Notice how the journaling aligns to the right, matching the vertical columns of colored paper.

When in doubt, add a rainbow of clouds! What a bright and happy layout, such a fitting tribute to a “Happy Day”! Cutting out painted clouds and arranging them in rainbow colors is such a great idea! The clouds are all different and handmade. This adds to the playfulness of the page. I love the pink printed words on the background. What a fun and original page!

This rainbow color page is a little bit more subdued, but still a lot of fun! The colors have been added to the page in horizontal strips and the black and white strip of photos is laid on top of them vertically. Little bits and bobs are added as color-coordinated embellishments, leaving a lot of gorgeous white space on the page. This makes for a colorful, yet restful layout, a wonderful tribute to those sweet little kids!

Finally! A “proper” rainbow of rainbow colors! This sweet rainbow is made up of all little color-coordinated embellishments. What an immense time-consuming job, but what a wonderful effect! I love the playfulness of the little trees of the background and the little swirls in the cloudy sky. This background really sets the scene for the sweet little kids to play. If you have some time, and a rainbow of embellishments to destash, consider creating a rainbow like this on one of your own pages!

This rainbow colored page has a completely different vibe. Not only are the colors really vibrant, the whimsical embellishments and paint really give this layout an extra pop. And how cute is that dog in the photo? I mean, this page is all sorts of playful perfection!

All the page elements contribute to this final happily chaotic and colorful result: the way the painted rainbow stripes are added (notice that grungy finish!), the bold and colorful stitched letters of the title, the many color-coordinated embellishments (my personal favorite is that flamingo!), but most of all, that gorgeous photo of the cute dog!

And another rainbow-colored layout with a completely different vibe! Adding all those color-coordinated embellishments to a black background is really genius. It completely changes the effect of the rainbow. You can see that the green, yellow and orange colors really pop off the page, whilst the darker colors sort of fade into the black background. It really is a beautiful effect. The rainbow colors are repeated in the letters of the title that are arranged around the circle-shaped photo.

This layout has an actual rainbow embellishment on it. No, two! The rainbow colors of the cute little rainbows are matched in all those flowers that fill the background. These flowers have been made from colorful and matching washi tape. So take a look at your own washi stash to see what you can use! I love the little button hearts of the flowers. They really make those flowers pop. The background flowers beautifully match the colors of the photos. Notice that a lot of white space has been left on this page to create a fun, vibrant, but also balanced and restful looking layout.

This layout shows a rainbow of pastel colored patterned paper. The effect is fantastic. This is a great stash-busting idea! The rest of the page is kept black and white. This balances out the layout beautifully. I love all the stitching on the page, from the many patterned papers used to create the rainbow to the white, almost invisible, “Bathtime fun” title. I also love the effect of all the typed words behind that white title. Notice that they are not random, this page element has been created for this layout specifically!

In this cute layout, the rainbow colors are added in a strip that runs horizontally across the page. Little color-coordinated cut-out flowers have been added as extra embellishments. Adding the rainbow on this page is a great way to document those cute photos! I love the combination of the big color photo with the black and white photo strip. And those red-headed girls are so cute!

The stylized heart on this layout is filled with rainbow colored circles. The circles are different sizes and have been cut from different patterned papers. Some of the circles are embellished with flowers, buttons or butterflies and the spaces in between enamel dots or other little embellishment have been added. And all these little elements build up to this wonderfully colorful heart that is the perfect background for a beautiful scrapbook page. What a great idea! And what a great stash-busting opportunity!

What a great quote and what a wonderful scrapbook page with such fitting photos! Those two kids sure know how to dance in the rain! I love the swirl of rainbow colors, embellished with all sorts of little color-coordinated bling! The strips of patterned paper are all different, but match in patterns, which gives the rainbow a unified look. The first part of the quote follows the curve of the rainbow background, emphasizing this shape. And those fluffy looking clouds with the little raindrops are the perfect finishing touch to this fun-filled scrapbooking layout.

So cute! So colorful! So fluffy! This layout just has it all! The photo of the reading kid is adorable and is the star of the page, despite all the other added elements that are quite visually demanding. I love the idea of using strips of washi paper as the background to your photos. If you are lucky enough to have such a rainbow of colors in your washi stash, you should definitely go for it!

And let’s talk about those feathery little crochet hearts! What an awesome addition to any page! They are completely over-the-top and that makes them so much fun! If you’re looking for a tangible and cuddly element to add to your layouts get out those crochet hooks and make yourself some lovely crochet hearts!

Such a cute photo deserves a beautiful layout! The image doesn’t show the entire layout, but we get to see most of it. The rainbow colors have been added in vertical strips and a hexagon cut-out grid overlays this colorful background. Some of the hexagons are filled with white paper, adding even more interest to the page. I love the stylized form of this layout. It is a great idea for using any cut-out grid overlay! Notice the added journaling strips, written with typewriter font. This way, the journaling is easy to read, which always is important!

Ever seen a double rainbow? And got very excited about it? Well, the creator of this layout sure has! And created this lovely rainbow-related page! What a fun page this is with all the different textures and elements. The enthusiasm about this natural phenomenon almost explodes from the page. I love that the background offers some white space, without being completely white. This gives a very interesting look to the page. The little added color-coordinated embellishments are the perfect finishing touches.

What if you crinkled up that washi tape before you put it on your page? Well, than you can get the look this layout shows! It is almost like little pieces of cloth fabric have been used. Together with the photo and the title it is the most important page element and it completely determines the vibe of the layout. I love this idea because of its simplicity. What a great way to create a completely different look with your washi tape! Come on, give it a try, and you’ll never look at washi tape the same way again!

This rainbow is made with soft pastel colors that are woven into a mat behind the featured photo. Because of this matting you in fact get two rainbows: one made out of vertical strips and one made out of horizontal strips of patterned paper. I love the addition of the little cut-out paper hearts, buttons and enamel dots, all beautifully color-coordinated with the underlying rainbow color. The pink color added around the edges of the paper is the perfect finishing touch!

This layout is filled with sisterly love and color! The rainbow colored squares are embellished with buttons and flowers. What an explosion of color surrounds the two cute little sisters. Three flower clusters (hello design triangle!) are added to three of the corners of the layout, adding even more color to an already abundantly color-filled layout. I love how the photo has its own square in the grid, albeit slightly enlarged. Notice how the ribbon of the journaling matches the little flower added to the bottom of the photo.

Such a cute photo! And what a great idea to surround it with rainbow-colored arrows all pointing towards it. I love the mix of color and black and white elements. The black matches the dark colors of the photo beautifully and provides a graphic contrast with the rest of the page. The color blocks are embellished with color-coordinated flowers. The black polka dots on the white background are the perfect finishing touches.

The last layout of this blog post has an almost bohemian vibe to it. The people on the photo are chilling on the grass and are surrounded by pastel-colored patches of patterned paper that are stitched onto the background. The whole page has a rustic country-quilt type feeling, very restful and beautifully executed. I love the addition of the words to the different rainbow colors, describing the people in the photo. Notice the vertical journaling on the right edge of the layout!
